Matt Brown serves as the Chief of Staff to the CEO at Addiction Recovery Care. He helps oversee the 500+ employee organization that operates a network of more than 30 addiction treatment facilities across Kentucky. Matt’s duties at ARC include strategic initiatives, public relations, communications, special projects and culture/leadership cultivation. He has been involved in the development of ARC’s program expansion since May 2015, during which ARC has opened over 25 programs.
Matt has a deep and personal understanding of addiction and the recovery process. Matt began his recovery journey in May 2014 after an 18-year battle with addiction. Like many of ARC’s employees and management, Matt personally received long term care from the company. During his time as a patient at ARC, he completed an internship with the company. This opportunity convinced him to leave the practice of physical therapy, and to pursue a career in addiction treatment with Addiction Recovery Care.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky in Health Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from UK. Prior to coming to ARC, Matt had an 11-year career practicing in the field of physical therapy. He has worked in several physical therapy start-ups, formed a community oriented non-profit called RISEabove, was appointed and then elected to Louisa’s City Council, and leads a newly formed church in Louisa called The Table. Matt and his wife Summer live in Louisa, KY.
